Course Description:
All topics below are new art topics, but may incorporate and connect with previous years' art classes.
Each topic will be adapted to the student level and class.
Project involves brief introduction to photography, cyanotype artists, and process. Students create 1 cyanotype to take home
Explore artists and art history related to masks. Explore multimedia art and methods of construction (paper mache, cardboard, found objects, sculptural techniques, paint) This will be a 2-3 lesson project. Students will be encouraged to use details and care. There is an optional photography shoot at the end.
We will explore illustrators, techniques, basic bookbinding. Students will construct and illustrate their own tiny book. Students introduced to haiku poems and encouraged to compose their own or choose one to use in their book illustration.
Students will learn about paper folding and paper cutting through artist study. Students will construct creative projects involving techniques introduced during artist study. Final project will depend on students' inspiration and collaboration.
Topics will be determined for Term 2 later in the year
